It is often said that a picture tells a thousand words – this saying holds true for patents too. While words are used to write detailed descriptions of a patent, a patent attorney will write referenced numbers in the drawings to draw attention to particular features of the invention.

If a patent were a skyscraper, the patent drawings would be the steel beams holding the structure high in the air. It is when these drawings are converted into a Virtual Reality 3D model that you see the completed building with a finished exterior. Just as a Skyscraper would fall if it weren’t built with strong steel beams, the patent application will surely fail if the patent drafting is not constructed properly.

Here is how our process works:

  • You approve the engineer’s hand sketches
  • It is then sent over to our drafting department
  • We take the hand sketches or CAD files and turn them into formal artwork
  • The artist will shade and draw as needed so the drawings are more easily understandable
  • A 3D model of your invention is created to provide multiple views of your invention
  • The inventor approves of the line drawings

Now that the structure of your patent is complete, it is now time to bring the patent to life by sending the drawings to be transformed into a Virtual Reality 3D model.
